This book is my first exposure to the chia seed. The book does a great job of explaining just what a chia seed is and the incredible nutritional benefits of adding chia seeds to your diet, primarily through smoothies.

As i mentioned prior to this book I was not aware of the chia seed. Given it's cheap price and little affect it has on the taste of your smoothie it really makes sense to explore it. I purchased some of the seeds and tried them in a Refreshing Mango Chia Smoothie. It was delicious and the chia seeds weren't noticeable to me. A great find in my opinion.

If you are looking to improve your food intake and drink smoothies this book is well worth the price and a try.

I recommend this to anyone wanting to incorporate chia seeds into their smoothie routine. There are great recipes and some alternative ingredient choices. Also included is a dietary breakdown of nutritional information, as well as a definitive history of the chia seed.
Chia Seeds are supposed to help control hunger while they enhance your diet with super-nutrients, according to some experts. The author goes into detail and explains the advantages and benefits of why you need to consume this super-food. After reading this book, I went out to my local Walmart and bought a bag of Bob's Red Mill Chia Seeds and made me a "Strawberry and Banana Smoothie" from the book. It tasted like a normal smoothie with a little bit extra texture. It tasted great! I think everyone should be eating more nutritious meals and this is a good way to do it. I recommend this book.
